Pearl is a girly girl with a big imagination. Today is extra special because it’s Pearl’s first day taking ballet. Ballet class is fun, until Pearl can’t follow along and fears she’s doing it all wrong. Pearl is about to give up when she learns each dancer is unique in their own way, like a unicorn, as Miss Victoria would say. Ballet is beautiful when you can be yourself!
Ashlynn Brooks was born in Montpelier, Virginia and currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia. She attended Virginia Tech, where she double majored in Creative Writing and Theatre. She began teaching ballet at a local studio while in college. Ashlynn now spends her time acting and teaching dance in Atlanta. Her students range from 1 to 11 years old, and her close relationships with them are the biggest blessings in her life. Ashlynn drew inspiration for this book from real-life experiences, such as her students, her childhood cat named Lilly, and taking ballet from a young age.
